Yule Tea Retreat was not the leading resort from the beginning days but was developed with a vision of Mr Andrew Yule, a young man from Scotland with a dream towards establishing a substantial hospitality business in Darjeeling. The idea started by transforming an old Heritage Planter's Bungalow into a resort by setting up 4 premium bedrooms along with other amenities to offer guests luxury accommodation facilities. Over the years the resort has gained its popularity for its rustic colonial charm with a touch of Indian hospitality helping to stand out as one of the prominent tea resorts of the country.

The legacy of Andrew Yule dates back to the early 1800s when a young boy from Scotland visited India with a revolutionary idea to change the tea industry of India. He was fascinated with the rich aroma and muscatel flavours that the Himalayan tea offered and utilized it towards developing a massive tea business. In the year 1863, he started the company named as Yule Tea in the Mim tea gardens of Darjeeling producing some of the finest quality tea leaves in the country. Although the company was able to sustain in other businesses, Mr Yule was able to create a revolution in the tea industry.
This laid the foundation of Yule Tea Retreat a tea resort that still stands as one of the finest tea resorts in the country and stands as a testament to the passion of Andrew Yule towards the Himalayan tea. Steeped with a legacy of more than 150 years, the tea resort offers guests with the finest quality of tea leaves along with true luxury accommodation services amidst the verdant tea gardens of Darjeeling.
Stayed at the Second Flush of Yule Tea Retreat recently, it was an amazing experience. The spectacular view of a sleeping Buddha sitting in the backyard was awesome. Hospitality was unparalleled. Mr Sujit and his team were excellent and took great care. Recommend staying for at least two days and I would love to visit again.

India Beautiful more than a century old fully refurbished bungalow in the middle of lovely green tea gardens and a grand view of Kanchenjunga. Experienced excellent management and hospitality at Yule Tea Retreat. They served us continental breakfasts and Nepali-Indian-Bengali lunches and dinners including momo and garden vegetables. Overall a very relaxing three nights away from the crowds.

India Yule Tea Retreat is such an amazing place, away from hustle and bustle. Beautifully maintained colonial bungalows with natural flora and fauna all around. The bungalows are just amidst a tea estate and offer tea tasting as a part of the stay and that itself is a mind-blowing experience. The nights here were too amazing with top-class facilities.

Well-maintained and spacious room, Polite and Courteous staff, good food and overall services being properly managed by the Hospitality Manager. The tea factory tour was informative and provided insight into tea plantations and manufacturing.

India Staying at Yule Tea Retreat was a unique experience. It's approx 1 hour from Darjeeling but it seems worlds apart, Yule estate and nature beyond made it an incredible experience. The tea gardens the factory with its orthodox method and the rooms were something beyond this world. Highly recommend.
